Interra 2010

On September 22^nd-25^th, 2010, the II International Youth Innovation Forum “Interra 2010” will take place in Novosibirsk. To this day the Forum is one of the biggest behind the Urals ground for interaction of administration and business representatives and expert community on elaborating solutions and introducing new innovative practices into economy, administration and social sphere.

Associated events

Apart from the main events of the “Interra” Forum a series of big events for young and creative people will take place on
September 22-25 in Novosibirsk.

Expert Symposium

The event primarily appeals to young people as potential generators of new knowledge and new accomplishments. Leading Russian and world experts in the field of innovations, economic and political dynamics in Russia and abroad will give speeches and presentations at the Symposium.

Smart Region

The Conference participants will discuss how place marketing increases regions’ attractiveness and strengthens their innovation and investment potential. Special attention will be given to the influence of marketing strategies on enhancing investment attractiveness of the regions with high concentration of innovation businesses.

Festival of Science and Innovations

The aim of the Festival of Science and Innovations is popularization of science. One of the tasks is to motivate the young generation to get involved in scientific and research activity and give them an opportunity for direct communication with scientists, inventors and engineers. World level experts and representatives of high technology innovation companies will take part in the event.

Siberian Convention

The event acts as an instrument for searching, selecting and supporting young innovators, whose projects and ideas constitute the basis of the knowledge economy, economy of the future. At the Siberian Convention ideas meet investments. The Convention is a growing point for young inventors and researchers.

Festival of Contemporary Culture

The events of the project reflect the tendencies of the world culture. The Festival of Contemporary Culture gives the “Interra” Forum creative atmosphere necessary for appearance of innovative solutions in any field of activity – science, economy or business.

University Summit

The goal of the Summit is sharing experience, establishing cooperation in the sphere of education and making strategic decisions on developing mobility in the spheres of science and education. The key participant of the Summit is the SCO Network University uniting 53 universities of SCO countries. Education Ministers of 5 SCO member states are also expected to participate in the event.

Foresight Laboratory

Foresight Laboratory is aimed at human capital formation in Siberia. Foresight methods make it possible to reorient territory management towards innovative entrepreneurial model, where intellectual capital and people’s energy are the main source for development.

Leaders Forum

Leaders Forum is the All-Russian meeting of the President’s Program graduates. All-Russian Contact Information Exchange with the participation of business representatives from the European Union is a major event of the Forum. This is the first event of such magnitude in Russia since the start of the State Program on Management Training.

Parliamentary Hearings

The deputies will analyze foreign legislative systems stimulating innovative development, discuss the issues of Russian innovation economy formation and evaluate the legislation and regulatory framework in the sphere of innovations. The deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation are expected to participate in the event.

International Congress of Entrepreneurs

The Congress is intended to become a source of new opportunities for innovative development. Large companies’ representatives will share experience on how to enhance effectiveness in implementation of innovations. Russian politicians and businesspeople, transnational corporations, entrepreneurs from the Great Twenty countries and innovation companies from Siberia and other Russian regions will take part in the Congress.

Summary 2009

On September 10^th -12^th the first International Youth Innovation Forum “Interra” was held in Novosibirsk.

The initiators of the Forum were the Novosibirsk Region Administration, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science, and the Federal Agency of Youth Affairs (“Rosmolodezh”).

The Forum “Interra” is an annual event facilitating the development of innovative activity in the region and the country.

1,034 participants, including 133 experts, from 25 countries and 36 Russian regions took part in the International Youth Innovation Forum “Interra” in 2009.

Along with the official participants and experts, 70, 000 people took part in 103 events held during the Forum.

More than 50 organizations, among which were 11 Scientific and Research Institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science, 10 innovation companies, 14 Novosibirsk Institutions of Higher Education, and 7 cultural organizations acted as the Forum organizers.

For the Young Specialists Innovation Projects Contest within the framework of the regional stage of all-Russia Youth Innovation Convent 867 works from 12 regions of the Siberian Federal District were applied. Based on the assessments made by the expert board, 9 laureates and 3 winners of the regional stage were selected. All the projects mentioned took part in the all-Russia Youth Innovation Convention in December, 2009 (Saint-Petersburg).

The finalists’ projects were exhibited by the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theater. 36 art objects were developed and created for that event.

36 business partners and 33 media partners supported the Forum work.

More than 18, 000 Internet users visited the official site interra-forum.ru during the Forum preparation, and 10, 000 of them visited the site during the Forum work days.

300 media representatives were accredited during the Forum.

On September, 9-12 more than 500 reports appeared in mass media. The Forum got extensive coverage in the blogosphere, and by September, 12^thranked first in the Yandex blog citation index.

The President of the Republic of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity, the participants of G8 Youth, delegations from the Republic of Cyprus, Italy, and the People’s Republic of China took part in work of the Forum .

Representatives of the following authorities took part in the Forum: the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for the Administration of Special Economic Zones, the Federal Intellectual Property, Patent and Trademark Service, Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, members of the Federal Council, members of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

Some officials also were at the Forum: the representatives of other countries and constituents of the Russian Federation , representatives of the Russian Academy of Science, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation , the Russian Association of Direct and Venture Investment, mass media, business, scientific towns, leading Scientific and Research Institutes, University rectors.

Due to the Forum's work, the following results were achieved:

More than 50 experts opinions, offers and recommendations concerning approaches to innovations in science, technology, and culture development organization were received.

Offers and recommendations concerning the elaboration of long-term programs in the assistance of innovation development and the youth attraction to the processes of innovation economics establishing were worked out.

10 agreements on expert and business cooperation aimed to the growth of innovation environment were signed between the Novosibirsk Region Administration, municipal units of the Region, and constituents of innovation development.

Complex potential of the Novosibirsk Region as the country’s innovation and cultural center was demonstrated and proved, long-term projects and programs of the Region’s development in the areas of technology development, innovation sphere, the growth of the Youth Policy, the growth of competitive systems in work with the Region population, technologies of qualitative information space development were implemented with involving of media resources of different levels, a series of new technologies in communications and events publications organization was successfully tested and implemented.
